Built from ultra-flex, four-way stretch, single-weave fabric, our mountain running Talus Shorts are designed to let you run in perfect comfort. While the stitch-free bonded hem keeps friction to a minimum, the split vent enables outstanding leg lift, eradicating resistance when the knee is high. Other running-specific features include an elasticated drop-in pocket for quick-access gels and cereal bars and a hidden zip pocket for a credit card and key. The absence of an inner pant liner gives you greater flexibility in the way you wear them and reflective highlights keep you visible while road running on your approach to the mountains.

Our Verdict

Rab’s Talus Shorts are ideal for fast paced activities. The lightweight, super stretchy material is perfect for running and although designed with mountain running in mind they are much more versatile. Exercise in warm conditions, whether it’s a sunny day or you’re in a hot gym, is made much more comfortable with these shorts. They are loose enough to allow you to breathe and get some airflow, the split up the side is a classic running feature that caters for high legs when pushing hard.

The material works really well and the design is minimalist in a positive way with a single elasticated drop pocket and one hidden internal pocket that zips closed. I’ve never wanted or needed a load of pockets on shorts as you may as well take a vest pack if you are taking that much stuff. Overall these are great lightweight pants for a range of intense activities.
