For a traditional big, warm down jacket that is packed with features the Senja is a great value option. With 220g of down, and a windproof and water resistant outer this jacket is great for taking on winter.

Our Verdict

Mountain Equipment’s Womens Senja Down Jacket delivers functionality while still being fashionable enough to wear around town without looking out of place. It is filled with 220g of 700+ FP Down while the traditional baffles provide plenty of room for the down to loft and are simple stitch through baffles so the cost has stayed much lower than box wall options.

The 40D Drilite outer has a smooth feel that isn’t as noisy as some of the super lightweight pieces. It is windproof and provides a really good amount of protection from moisture. The jacket has a good mountain hood that’s adjustable, as are the cuffs and hem, which is ideal for getting the most comfortable fit possible. This is a good all-round jacket that balances weight, performance and price.
