Super light, super breathable, summer insulation.

Not a gram too much. The Aenergy Light Half Zip Pullover is designed for mountaineering and ski touring all year round. Depending on the outside temperature and level of exertion, you can wear it as either a base or mid layer. It is made from very lightweight Polartec® Power Grid™ material, which keeps you warm, is elasticated and has a waffle structure on the inside that efficiently wicks moisture to the outside. The half-length zipper allows easier ventilation and lets you quickly slip the pullover on or off. Flat seams reduce unpleasant pressure points for even greater comfort. The Aenergy Light Half Zip Pull: our lightest mid-layer for ambitious mountain sports enthusiasts.

Our Verdict

This is an incredibly light (190g based on UK size medium) and super breathable Half Zip Pull-On. This is definitely a fair-weather top, for use when you’re hiking, bouldering, or climbing, then stop and don’t want to lose your body heat.  Great to have close to hand for any change in temperature and it packs down so small, that it can easily be stashed in the top of a rucksack

It’s an athletic cut, which fits very nicely over a base layer, has a good amount of stretch, and won’t blow about in the wind. The cuffs and hem are both elasticated but have no way to tighten or loosen. Has one chest pocket, which isn’t very roomy but big enough for keys.

Could be used just as a base layer, but I think it will get most of its use as a thin mid-layer, would also be good to sleep in on chilly summer nights.
